What is a carousel? It’s an amusement ride consisting of a rotating circular platform with seats for the riders. The seats are normally in the form of rows of wooden horses or other animals mounted on posts, many of which are moved up and down to simulate galloping to the accompaniment of music.
But carousel is much more than that. To the people of Broome County, it’s a child’s smile and look of excitement. It’s a glint in the eye of a silver hair woman sitting on a bench nearby, thinking about her younger years. Carousels are an echo of a bygone era, a slower pace, a more innocent time. To the people of Broome County, a carousel is memories, history and home. After all we are the Carousel Capital of the World!
I am happy to announce that Pack & Mail is now carrying a wide variety of Vintage Carousels and Carousel Horses. They included single horses, rocking horses, stationary carousels and full carousels that play music. Something for everyone’s taste and price range, some for under $5.00. What better way to remind someone of their roots or the good times that you shared than with a carousel horse from Pack & Mail, your souvenir headquarters.
One of the things that Pack & Mail tries to do is help the local economy. We’re always looking for locally made goods to sell in our locations. One of our newest items is a series of motivational books published by Everest Inspirational Classics; including bestseller “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. Stop in to either of our locations to see the different titles available. If you know anyone who would like to sell their locally made products in our stores, please have them contact us!
